The Decade Preceding the BSAVA

The BSAVA was founded in 1956, holding its first congress in 1957. In the ten years before this there was a lot of discussion amongst the growing number of small animal veterinary surgeons as to how they could organise themselves and provide the best service to their clients, by spreading new ideas and techniques. Brian Singleton was the main force behind this plan.
