The Veterinary History Society may suspend access by any person to the Licenced Materials without compensation if it has reasonable grounds to suspect a breach of these terms and conditions by that person.

1. Licensed Materials
‘Licensed Materials’ are any edition of the journal ‘Veterinary History’ and the papers, articles and any material contained within them. This applies both to the ‘Free-to-View’ and the ‘Paid-For’ editions of the journal, available on this website

2. Authorised Users
Authorised users of the Licenced Material are:

‘Subscribers’ who are individual members of the Veterinary History Society.

‘Purchasers’ are individuals who have bought access to one, or more, of the journals, but is not a member of the Society.

‘Unauthorised Person’ means any person who is not a Subscriber or a Purchaser.

3. Authorised & prohibited uses
Subscribers and Purchasers may access or use the Licensed Materials for personal, education, to support teaching and research for a non-commercial purpose.

  • Subscribers and Purchasers may not:
  • Sell or resell Licensed Material,
  • Remove, obscure or alter copyright notices or acknowledgements;
  • Use any Licensed Material for any Commercial Use;
  • Provide access to Licensed Material by anyone other than Authorised Users.

4. Access
Subscribers will be granted access to the Service via individual username and password.


If the VHS suspects that a password is being used by an Unauthorised Person, access to the Licenced Materials may be suspended.
