In order to administer your membership and provide access to Licenced Materials we need to retain and process personal data. We are committed to e protecting your personal data.  Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

For Subscribers (members of the VHS) we will collect the following information

  • Name
  • Address
  • E-mail Address
  • Qualifications
  • Occupation
  • Veterinary History Interests
  • Method of Payment

For Purchasers, we will collect the following information

  • Name
  • Address (only if print copy is required)
  • E-mail Address
  • Method of Payment

We require this information to process your application and to provide access to Licenced Materials, to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping
  • Improvement of products and services
  • Announcements of Meetings and the Annual General Meeting
  • Occasional promotional emails, special offers or other information which may be of interest
  • From time to time, we may also use the information to contact you for market research purposes. This would be for internal (i.e. IVHS) use only.

Third parties
There are certain circumstances under which we may disclose your personal information to third parties. These are as follows:

  • We will disclose personal data to our service providers (e.g. payment providers) who process data on our behalf and on our instructions.
  • Where we are under a duty to disclose your personal data if asked to do so by the police or other authority investigating suspected illegal activities.
